We’ve been enjoying a busy few months and 2012 is already booking up nicely.
We’re excited to be returning to Cupar Corn Exchange on 25th February to play again for the Cupar Children’s Gala Family Ceilidh, which was one of our very first gigs together last year. Tickets are available at various shops around Cupar, or contact us through the website if you’re interested in coming. There aren’t many tickets left!
We’re at the Tavern in Perth for another Friday ceilidh night on Fri 23rd March, so come along for a few drinks, lots of music, and maybe even a wee dance from 9-12.
We’re also hoping to come along to ‘Trad at the Tarvern’s’ first Wednesday night session on Feb15th. It promises to be a brilliant night, with lots of fabulous musicians.
Freereelin’ have had a fantastic few months, busy practising and playing. We’ve enjoyed private ceilidhs here there and everywhere: Dunfermline, Edinburgh, Glenfarg, Tillicoultry and Pitlochry, with another coming up in St Andrews. All fabulous and unique: from freezing our little fingers off playing in the open-air, to roasting on the hottest summer days in hotel function suites; from wall-to-wall high energy dance-fests to chatty events with more emphasis on performance sets. All great fun!
We played our first folk-club gig at Eddy’s in Kirkcaldy in July. And very exciting and enjoyable it was too! A lovely crowd to play to, and we were chuffed to bits with the reception – all in all a fantastic gig, and we’re looking to play more of these sorts of gigs alongside the ceilidhs. You’ll see some footage from the gig on our Facebook page.
We haven’t as yet recorded a demo CD, but after the success of our gig at Eddy’s, we’re all fired up to get into the studio. Watch this space!
We’re coming up to Ceres Inn Session time again. But it’s a BONUS month – not one but TWO sessions this month: Monday 4th April and Monday 11th April. Come along and join us!
The sessions were started in Summer 2010 by Davy and Lesley of Fife Ceilidh Band, Freereelin’, and run monthly on the first Monday of every month. You can hear and play a wide range of traditional tunes and songs with us – anyone at any level is very welcome to come and join in.
See you there!
Taken at Keavil House Hotel, Dunfermline.
We’re off to Ceres Inn in Fife to join the fun at the monthly session tonight. Hoping for some energetic playing after this beautiful sunny day!
Come and have a drink or join in with a few tunes or songs.
Freereelin’ had a top ceilidh night at Cupar Corn Exchange, Fife on Saturday 26th Feb with help from Tim Hacking who provided the PA equipment for the gig. More kit than we’ve ever seen at a ceilidh! The sound was GREAT!
Apart from breaks for the raffle and the silent auction, parents and children alike kept the dancing going right up to midnight. The auction and raffle prizes were fantastic, and there were many very happy winners!
A great time was had by all, and the committee are delighted to have raised over £1200 for the Gala in the summer – a massive event in the Cupar calendar.
Tickets for the Cupar Children’s Gala Family Ceilidh have been selling like hot-cakes! We’re really looking forward to a top night at the Corn Exchange on Saturday (26th Feb). If you don’t already have tickets, I believe there may be a few left, so drop us a message!
We’re very excited about the wedding fayre at the Corn Exchange in Cupar this Sunday (20th Feb). The band is looking forward to playing some acoustic ceilidh sets during the afternoon to keep you (and ourselves) entertained.
If you’re involved in planning for a wedding in Fife or further afield, come along and meet us!
With a couple a great ceilidhs now under our belt, we’ve been busy taking more bookings and working on our website and admin systems.
The online booking form is working a treat (thank you Gary!) and we’re delighted that our clients are enjoying using it. It just makes life so easy when the admin processes can be automated – isn’t modern technology just GREAT! All you have to do is fill in the details of your ceilidh, wedding, party or corporate event, and we’ll get back to you with the band’s availability and fee within the same day!
We’re off to Ceres Inn to join in the fun at the monthly session tonight. It promises to be very well attended after the weather got the better of us in January!
Come and have a drink or join in with a few tunes or songs.
