FAQs

How do I book you?

You can book online on the Bookings page, accessed from the main menu. We will contact you using the email address you provide or by telephone to let you know if we're available, and to discuss your requirements in greater depth. Once we have agreed the details and set a fee, we will require a deposit to confirm your booking.

Alternatively you may wish to request a call-back through the Contact page. We can fill in the booking form and discuss your requirements immediately over the phone (although we won't be able to confirm our availability until all band members have been consulted), or we can send a booking form out to you. Again, as soon as the finer details are agreed and we have received your deposit, your booking will be confirmed.

How much do you charge?

A standard gig lasting no more than 4 hours and finishing by midnight will cost £390. If your venue is much further afield we will need to come to an agreement over travel expenses, and if you wish to keep going beyond midnight, or for longer than our standard 4 hours, we will need to negotiate a slightly increased fee depending on your requirements.

What ceilidh dances do you call?

We can call all the dances we play. We have all the standards and a few less well known dances in our repertoire: Gay Gordons, Dashing White Sergeant, Canadian Barn Dance, Eightsome Reel, Virginia Reel, The Flying Scotsman, Strip the Willow, Military Two-Step, St Bernards Waltz, Scottish Waltz, Heel Toe Polka, Pride of Erin Waltz, Circassian Circle, Britannia Two-Step, Highland Schottische and so on. We are always happy to take requests!

Do you have a demo CD?

Not as yet! We're working at it. In the meantime, you can hear some (rather rough and ready) clips of the band on the Clips page.

What music do you play?

We play ceilidh music, and we love an opportunity to slot in a few of our own folky performance sets and traditional tunes and songs too if it suits the event. Our music involves a range of mood and pace, from the tranquil through to the raucous! You tell us what you'd like, and we will be delighted to oblige. We can provide any combination from purely ceilidh through to purely performance music, or background. Whatever suits you!

What instruments do you play?

We play fiddle, guitar, bass guitar, bodhran, cajon box drum, whistle, flute and mandolin.

How much space does the band need to set up?

Our standard set-up with the bodhran and cajon box drum is very compact. We arrange ourselves in a little semi-circle. We require a little extra safe space for our instruments and our amplification kit, but a minimum area of 4x3m is sufficient. Obviously, the more space we have, the easier and more comfortable it is.
